OUR TEAM

Our structural engineering team, based at two main offices in Cape Town and Pretoria, South Africa, is diverse and includes highly experienced staff (25 years + experience) complimented by an energetic group of younger engineers with experience ranging from 4 to 15 years. Our clients capitalise on our collective experience and the dynamic interaction within our team and with other members of the project team.

In addition, the structural engineering division has access to a wide network of professionals and experts with whom we have collaborated on projects ranging from high-rise buildings to modern facades and building technology issues.

BIGEN AFRICA'S KEY EXPERTS

Ig de Villiers has been leading the team since 1985. His structural consulting experience was gained over a period of four decades. He has been involved in numerous landmark projects in South Africa, African states, the Middle East and Ireland. He holds a BSc (Civil) degree (cum laude) and a PhD degree from the University of California.

Johann Human has 17 years’ experience in bridges, industrial buildings, harbour structures and other commercial projects. He holds a BEng (Civil) degree (cum laude) and an MEng (Structural) degree from Rand Afrikaans University.
