Bigen Africa gears for expansion into Africa

Emmanuel Anesu Kere has been appointed as Executive Director: Africa at Bigen Africa, an Infrastructure Development firm specialising in engineering, asset and revenue management and development  finance.  Emmanuel joins the company from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, where he was Programme Manager: International Finance for Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

Emmanuel holds various qualifications, including an MBA in Strategic Management from the Thames Valley University in the United Kingdom, a Harvard Post-Graduate certificate in Building Competitive Economies and advanced certificates in project management, financial management, strategic negotiation and project finance.

Emmanuel is proficient in gathering market intelligence on regional trends relating to infrastructure  opportunities, preparing funding proposals, executing project due diligence, managing financial syndication and managing mega projects. At the DBSA, the portfolio under his management amounted to more than R3,5 billion.

He was involved in the deal origination and structuring of various projects across the infrastructure spectrum, including:

  • The construction of  the electricity distribution networks; refinancing; rehabilitation and refurbishment of hydro –electric plants;
  • Airports reconstruction projects; 
  • Housing projects and housing infrastructure;
  • Several new and Hotel developments & refurbishments;
  • Rail, road and Port rehabilitations;
  • The feasibility study for water supply and distribution; 
  • Gas pipeline development & construction;
  • Mining refurbishment, rehabilitation and construction.
