May 2012 -Bigen Africa, a South African infrastructure development firm with fast growing presence in Africa, has met with various stakeholders in Ghana to explore how it could help accelerate the pace of infrastructure development in Ghana. The Bigen Africa’s delegation, including its Chairman, Dr. Iraj Abedian, met with various industry players and Ms Hanna Tetteh, Minister of Trade and Industry, while in Accra, the capital of Ghana to seek business opportunities and establish useful partnerships.

March 2012 - Infrastructure development company, Bigen Africa, is using @Risk,a risk analysis software (produced by software developers, Palisade) to bring basic services to local communities in South Africa. The risk analysis software enables the ‘development activist’ organisation to make informed decisions about implementing a programme and provide the detail required to secure commercial finance.

March 2012 - Part of Bigen Africa’s five year ‘S-Vision 2016’ strategy, aimed at improving all of Africa’s infrastructure needs, is to help mitigate the demands on South Africa’s scarce water resources and its deteriorating raw water quality by designing, developing, managing and delivering water and waste-water treatment solutions for major industry water consumers, mining being one of the largest.

January 2012 - Bigen Africa partnered with the City of Tshwane, the Development Bank of Southern Africa and the Doxa Deo church to donate much needed food parcels to indigent families in and around the City of Tshwane.

December 2011 - Bigen Africa has been contracted to provide all civil and structural engineering services for a prestigious 55 000 square-metre office development for Telesure Investment Holdings in Johannesburg.

November 2011 - Emmanuel Anesu Kere has been appointed as Executive Director: Africa at Bigen Africa, an Infrastructure Development firm specialising in engineering, asset and revenue management and development finance. Emmanuel joins the company from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, where he was Programme Manager: International Finance for Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

October 2011 - Bigen Africa has given the pre-schoolers of the Zithuthukile Crèche situated in the northern Natal town of Newcastle a lasting gift – a solid and well-equipped four-classroom building replacing an outdated and dilapidated facility which posed safety risks to the children. The social investment initiative flows from a revenue management enhancement contract the Newcastle Local Municipality awarded Bigen Africa in 2003.

October 2011 - Bigen Africa has enhanced its vision, mission and value proposition to reflect its thought leadership in providing innovative sustainable infrastructure development solutions in Africa and abroad over the entire projects lifecycle.

August 2011 - Bigen Africa received an accolade in the Business Excellence category of the Consulting Engineers South Africa’s (CESA) prestigious CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards.
